Georgia, Florida and Alabama Depot (34 Rose Street)
The Depot was built around 1891 and restored by the City in 2010. Originally the Depot was part of the Carrabelle, Tallahassee & Georgia Railroad Company which was absorbed by the Georgia, Florida and Alabama Railroad (G. F. & A.). Locally the G. F. & A. depot is affectionately referred to as the Gopher, Frog and Alligator Depot. It is currently operated as a museum of local history. Looking for a way to memorialize or honor someone or something? You can "get on board" with the restoration of this Historic Depot by purchasing an engraved paving brick which will be embedded in the sidewalk at the Depot. For brick options and pricing, contact Elaine Herndon at 850-528-8278.
